# Last-Minute Valentine Cards for Kids (Thanks, Cricut!)

### There I was, standing amongst the crowd, searching for [Valentine’s Day](https://ourfamilylifestyle.com/holidays/valentines-day/) cards for our kids. Last minute. Well, just about.

But, as I looked through them all, I just couldn’t decide. My [anxiety](https://ourfamilylifestyle.com/when-anxiety-drives-me/) was getting the best of me.

There were just too many people on the card aisle with me; and far too many choices to make. I get overwhelmed easily.

So we left empty-handed.

We had to go pick up Joeli from church, and I was never going to decide on something under those circumstances.

But, we still needed Valentine cards for the kids for our annual family Valentine exchange.

Alas, all was well! I had my [Cricut](https://ourfamilylifestyle.com/tag/cricut/)!

I even set up a corner of our office with all things Cricut. I had to! I needed a place to work, live for organization, and that corner needed a makeover anyways.

I sat down, pulled up [Cricut Design Space](https://shareasale.com/r.cfm?b=713460&u=516651&m=51766&urllink=&afftrack=) and started filtering through projects.

Then, I decided I wanted to try something different.

So, I jumped on Google to search for puns based on things I knew the kids liked.

Donuts.

Music.

Cows.

Video games.

Whatever I could think of.

As I found cute little sayings, I would look for a corresponding image I could use in Design Space.

Eventually, I had gathered seven ideas. One for each of our kids, son-in-law and granddaughter.

It was then as easy as cutting, drawing, and assembling each card.

We used 5 pieces of [Cricut Cardstock](http://shrsl.com/1yi1j), 7 colors of [Cricut pens](http://shrsl.com/1yi1m), and 2 [LightGrip Machine Mats](http://shrsl.com/1yi1p).

Because we were going to be passing out the Valentine’s cards at our annual homeschool party, we decided to do small sized cards.

I was thrilled with how they turned out!

Each one was carefully chosen to pick the child they would be given to and then lovingly assembled for delivery.

After all, aren’t handmade, *personalized gifts* the best!!
